Whale Watching: A Seasonal Kayak tour

San Diego kayaking and our guided kayak tours are available all year round. Go whale watching by taking a San Diego kayak tour. San Diego whale watching is a seasonal activity available during winter months. To catch these grey whales migrating, our kayak tour will go a mile or more off of La Jolla Shores grey_whaleto wait for these amazing creatures.

The migration path of thse grey whales is along the west coastline and they pass nearby La Jolla Shores and La Jolla Cove. In addition, the whale watching kayak tour will also paddle to the seacliffs, the La Jolla caves, the kelp beds and Underwater Ecological Reserve. Kayakers may also see sea lions and harbor seals while taking a kayak tour to go whale watching.

Whale watching kayak tours are available from December through February. Don't miss an opportunity to see these magnificent creatures. Mild weather in San Diego makes kayaking in La Jolla a year round activity. Reservations are necessary for whale watching and kayak tours. Water temperatures are usually between 57-64 degrees during these winter months, so wetsuits are usually necessary. Wetsuit rentals are available through us upon arrival.
